About Us

Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Adoption is a Regional Adoption Agency for Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council responsible for providing a range of adoption and adoption support services including special guardianship support across both Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

We operate within a 50-mile radius of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and are committed to finding families for different child/ren including children who can be placed through early permanence, children over the age of four, sibling groups, children from ethnic backgrounds, and children with disabilities or additional needs.

Our mission is to provide permanent and positive family life experience for children in need of adoptive families. We believe it is vital that we offer trauma informed support to families to promote strong family relationships and to enable children to develop to their full potential.

We will make a life-long difference to the lives of children for whom adoption is in their best interests and support those caring for children and young people through access to therapeutic support. We recognise the lifelong benefits for children living with special guardianship families and it is important they have access to the same support as adoptive families.

Alongside this, we also recognise the impact on birth families who lose their children to adoption so we will offer birth families support they need in order that they can start to heal and move forward in their lives. As an agency, we understand that adoption has lifelong implications for all involved.
